Corbetti Geothermal Project Signs Exploration Drilling Contract

Ethiopia’s Corbetti geothermal project signed a contract with UK-based Marriott Drilling Group on 28 October 2026 to drill up to four exploration wells near Shashemene in the Oromia Region. Project partner PIDG has made a further US$7.2 million equity contribution through InfraCo Africa to support development, while Taranis Operations has taken the majority interest in the project. The drilling contract price has not been disclosed. Energy developers, engineering companies and infrastructure operators can explore opportunities in geothermal modelling, subsurface data analysis and project monitoring.
